Systems of Equations - Comparing Phone Plans Project
Students are guided through a phone comparison. Then students will research plans and compare them in groups. This activity also includes 4 different homework problems similar to the phone comparison but related to other fields.

This is a great end of year research project for any math course at a multitude of grade levels! From start to end of presentations, this project took me two weeks to complete - I give specific dates for each goal and give a grade for completion of each goal. The points I gave are listed on the information sheet. I created this in Word and it can be edited to fit your classroom and your needs. This is a partner activity worksheet with 6 questions and an enrichment section for faster working students to help explore linear functions.
This is meant as an exploration to introduce linear functions with students having no knowledge on the subject. The students must examine definitions, graphs, and equations using devices to access that internet. Graphing calculators help as well.
Then students work on an application problem to bring this information together.
