TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My name is Lindsey Kennedy, and my husband (Boomer) and I have been teachers for several years at different high schools in a large school district in NC. Boomer has taught predominantly US History; I have taught mostly Algebra 2 (Common Core 3), as well as Advanced Functions and Modeling, Pre-Calculus, and IB Math Studies. Through our combined experiences, we have a wide range of lessons both in history and math. We joined TpT in February 2014 and are excited to share our resources with other teachers!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My resources are reflective of my hands-on teaching style. I love for my students to have an active role in the learning process! In my classroom, a typical class period will have a short time of guided notes, followed by a fun, engaging activity where the students practice their new knowledge.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Masters in Education, NC Teaching Fellow

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the University of North Carolina Greensboro with my BS in Mathematics and Teacher Licensure for Grades 9-12. I also have my Master of Arts in Education from Wake Forest University. Boomer graduated with his degree in Social Studies Education from Wake Forest University and a Masters in School Administration from UNCG. He has been a high school principal for four years and just recently completed his EdD!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Boomer and I have been married for almost ten years. We share our common passion for education, and many evenings are spent detailing the events of our days at school. A perk of both being in education: we enjoy traveling together in the summer! We have a three-year-old daughter, Emerson, and we just welcomed our son, Eli!
