Penguin Facts
Whenever I introduce a lesson, I try to have loads of pictures and information. I felt the my students took well to this Penguin lesson so I thought I'd post it. Since I didn't take the photographs I'm not charging. I did a lesson with my Kinder art classes on drawing habitats and will use the same document to intro a sculpture lesson with my first grades. Parent and Baby Animal Match
Pictures of the parent animal and the baby animal with labels.
I have my students cut out all the pictures and glue the baby on the left end of a popsicle stick and the parent on the right side of the stick.
You can also put them into a Bridge Map (Thinking Maps) with the relating factor being either "is a baby" or "is the parent of". Of course for this to be grammatically correct, you will need to add articles in front of the labels.

PBS: Deadliest Volcanoes is an Earth Science documentary featuring some of the most violent and active volcanoes on Earth. The video tells how scientists can predict when a volcano will erupt. My document involves detailed questions that students in middle or high school can fill out while watching the film.
