We have taught middle school and some high school in both urban and rural environments. The subjects we have taught include 6th grade Ancient Civilizations, 6th Grade World Geography, 7th Grade US History (Beginnings to Civil War), 8th Grade US History (Civil War to Present), and Spanish 1 (HS).
Our teaching style is highly varied, with an emphasis on student centered learning and developing critical thinking skills. We incorporate a blend of discussions, creative projects, debates, video, simulations, service learning and community interaction, independent learning, large and small group work, and a whole lot more in our instruction and materials. Within the framework of a Social Studies or Spanish classroom and beyond, we hope to spark creativity and foster growth of the whole student.
