Students can have a copy of the "McDonald's Menu" and then they must complete the activity by creating a meal they want. As the teacher you tell them how much they can spend. When I did it I used $5. They then fill out the worksheet attached. Students LOVE this and it is great practice!!

Thanksgiving Edition Grocery Store Math

Students need to use a grocery store flyer to shop for an entire Thanksgiving meal. Each category has pictures straight from the grocery store flyer. I used Market Basket this week, but almost all of these items are also for sale in Shaws and Stop & Shop, as well. I made it a Word document, so you can easily replace the images if you want! I've also included a link to a PDF of the flyer on the last page of the document. Just a heads up, but Market Basket does have a Beer and Wine section

This packet is intended for students in the upper elementary grades. Each day of school, students will track the fraction, decimal and percentage form of the day, and then will determine if the fraction can be reduced or simplified by determining if it is a prime or composite number. Then, on the 100th day of school, students will survey 100 people collectively and create graphs based on the results.
