TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in elementary education in 1999. I've taught kindergarten, sixth grade, and most things in between! I've found myself on an unexpected journey homeschooling for the last few years. As my kids head back to public school this year, I am looking forward to jumping back into my career!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love hands-on, engaging projects. I love seeing kids take chances and use their strengths to build their weaknesses. I also love encouraging collaboration between children and adults, which is why escape room style lessons are so appealing to me. A few years ago, my children requested escape room birthday parties. I went all out creating an elaborate back story and setting up puzzles. To this day, they still remember the details of those parties. I decided to focus my TPT store on educational breakout games to create fun, memorable learning opportunities for students.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I went to high school in the Seattle area, and moved 3,000 miles away to pursue a degree in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Four years later, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I quickly discovered that as much as I enjoyed engineering, my true passion was for working with kids and helping them achieve their goals.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I got married in 2000 and am a mom of three amazing kids. Our family enjoys rock climbing both indoors and out together. We've lived all over the country, but are now settled in North Carolina.
