Thirteen wonderful years teaching middle school mathematics, plus another year and a half at the elementary level.
I believe that students learn best when they are actively engaged with the content. Hands-on, inquiry-based learning that incorporates technology, group activities, differentiated instruction, and draws from students’ background and interests when possible, helps to motivate students into becoming active, real-world learners. They think it's all about the content, but it's really about so much more.
