TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a science teacher for 22 years and am constantly looking for interesting ways to engage my students. I have also learned a lot from being a mentor teacher and science coach for my district. These experiences have greatly shaped the lessons that I have created to use in the classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in using a multiple range of teaching strategies to help meet the needs of as many students as possible. I often use visuals, graphic organizers, hands-on labs, virtual labs, group work, and pair share strategies for each science unit.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Month, Science Coach Award, Pentathlon Awards

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a B.A. in Biology from the University of California, Irvine and a teaching credential and Masters in Education from the UCLA.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I enjoy designing lessons that get my students excited and engaged in learning about science.
