What educators are saying

This was great practice for my students. I was able to leave this with a substitute and the students completed it with a partner or independetly.
My students really enjoyed this activity. Once they got the hang of it, they did well and were able to help each other. It turned into a center staple in my classroom. Love it.

Description

I created this net forces worksheet to help my students practice finding the net force and to determine whether forces are balanced or unbalanced. For the first 15 questions, students draw a free body diagram to describe the forces acting on an object. Then, they determine the magnitude and direction of net force and describe whether or not the object's velocity is affected. For the last 5 questions, student summarize how balanced and unbalanced forces affect an object's motion. I hope this lesson will help your students visualize and clearly distinguish the difference between these two net forces.
