As an elementary school teacher responsible for developing my students' writing skills, I got awfully tired of reading the same words over and over in their pieces. Cool, for example, was ubiquitous, an adjective that qualified everything and ultimately meant nothing. Very seemed to modify every verb under the sun. Personal Word Wall for Writer's Journal
Students can use this Personal Word Wall to record words that they want to (or need to) learn to spell. We have students keep these in their writing journals and use them to record words that they want to use in their writing but do not know how to spell.
