Fraction Chant: Numerator and Denominator
This is a chant I wrote to help my fifth grade students remember the meaning of the parts of a fraction. When we do it in class, I sometimes have them chant the whole chant with me, and sometimes we just do the first two verses together, which reinforce just the definition of numerator and denominator.

I searched high and low for a succinct song to help my 6th and 7th graders remember how to convert between fractions, decimals, and percents. Couldn't find one, so I made my own. My students put the lyrics in their interactive notebooks, so this has not only the lyrics but also some examples. I quote the song as I model different conversions, and even in 8th grade my students remember and love the song. Very catchy and easy to understand!

COOL Song About How to Compare Fractions
I rewrote the words to "Havana" by Camila Cabello and renamed it "Denominator Ooh-Na-Na" to be about finding common denominators and comparing fractions. My students LOVED it, learned how to rap (kind of), and I was able to reuse phrases from this song while teaching to remind them how to find common denominators when comparing, adding, or subtracting fractions.
