I have 15+ years of experience teaching and tutoring grades K-8. This includes being a 4th and 5th Grade Special Education Teacher, K-5 Substitute Teacher, K-5 Afterschool Tutor, K-5 Summer School Teacher, and One on One Tutor for K-8.

My teaching style primarily focuses on differentiated instruction, being patient, and really making sure my students feel heard and important. I make it a point to really get to know my students individually. Once I have a better understanding of their likes, interests, and learning styles, I try to find a way to incorporate them into our lessons. I try to let them show and tell me how they learn best so I can think about which strategies or techniques will work for them personally.

My shining teacher moment is every time I see the exact instant a student truly learns/understands something they didn't before. It's that moment you can actually see their eyes light up and that imaginary light bulb shining above their head because now they "get it".

I'm a current Homeschool Mom and former NYC Public School Special Education Teacher, Substitute, and Tutor for grades K-8.
