I have worked in education for 19 years. After teaching chemistry for 10 years, I leaped into high school counseling. As a school counselor, I have served as a senior counselor for 7 years.
My approach to teaching has everything to do with building the relationship with the student first. I truly believe that once they realize that you are genuinely interested in their story and their success, you've got them hooked. I believe that every student has a story and their story matters.

I graduated from high school in 1991. I went to a small liberal arts college for my beginning years and then transferred to one of the largest universities in my state. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. I received my Masters degree in Secondary School Counseling and my Rank I in Elementary Counseling.
I am the only girl in my house. With my husband, two boys, and three male dogs, it gets a little loud and wild. I play piano and love to paint furniture. I don't watch TV much, but when I do, I binge on Netflix. I am active in my church and school. I love sparkly things and words, My love language is words of encouragement. I want people to feel good about themselves. I try to give my time and attention to the ones who need it most. What do I want to do with my life? I want to make a difference every single day.
