Every day, I think to myself that there is no profession out there that I could love more than teaching. The more I teach, the more I'm convinced I've found my calling. I started teaching at a private school where I taught for several years and became the curriculum lead. A few years later, I moved into the public school system. I spend most of my time teaching middle school math now and I love it. Those "ah ha!" moments for students are worth all the hard work! I love making new resources and I make them for all my students - the ones who need a challenge, the ones who think they aren't a "math" person, and the ones who think they don't like math... but then realize they do (because let's face it, enthusiasm is infectious and I really love math)! Everything in my store has been tested in the classroom or online with my own students -- because that's who I'm making these lessons for! I keep my prices low because I know what it's like to be in a jam and need something, but you don't want to spend a fortune for a little help.
I naturally find myself incorporating imaginative and fun ideas in my lessons and resources; having a sense of humour and a creative take on things helps kids get involved. I like making learning interactive and engaging while still thoroughly covering important concepts and helping students develop all their different skills! I include a lot of enrichment projects and challenge questions to get kids thinking critically and collaborating with each other.
