In nine years of teaching high school social studies, I have taught a plethora of traditional, hybrid, and online courses from American History to Sociology to AP Psychology. I spent one year subbing for various districts before I got my current position at a suburban high school on the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio. My first two years I was a traveling teacher where I learned the beauty of simplification. I try to keep both my classroom's physical environment and the course material as simple as possible so that students can focus on what's important -- learning, no fluff required.
My teaching style is never set, and often times looks different from year-to-year, but no matter what my style might look like my classroom is predictable and routinized. Many of you may read those two words and think boring, but my goal is to give my students a constant environment that is stimulating yet predictable for their every day.
