I have taught Read 180 for 11 years. I began teaching in East Los Angeles and now teach in Ontario. I love to create new resources to supplement the program in my classroom.
I feel that Read 180 is a great program and very engaging for students. I am lucky to teach a double block class, where I have my students for two class periods in a row. They get credit for Read 180 and for English 1, and having them for two hours instead of one makes a huge difference in instruction. I have created extra lessons and activities that supplement the curriculum. I also teach several novels as part of the class, including Tangerine, Seedfolks, The Code, and We Beat the Street.
