I have 7 years of experience teaching Middle School ELA classes. I have 1 year of experience teaching High School ELA classes. I have also fulfilled roles where I supported learners with autism and other disabilities. I do have an ESL certification, which I utilize in my regular ELA classroom.
My district focuses on MCL for our learners. I do my best to individualize learning as much as possible and to offer learners choices in how they demonstrate learning. I love collaboration and often create tasks that involves various levels of individual, partner and small group experiences. While we work hard in our classroom, I love having fun with my kiddos too. Learning should always be engaging!
No formal awards, but my students draw me pictures and write me notes all of the time-I love this and keep them all! These mean more to me than any formal award ever could!
High School Diploma: Governor Mifflin School District; Bachelor Degree in Science: Business Management; Master Degree in Science: Secondary Education; Education Focus Areas: Language Arts (7-12), ESL (K-12), and Communications (7-12); Apple Certified Teacher
When I am not inspiring young minds to read and write or creating lesson plans, I do actually have hobbies! First of all, I love spending time with my family-they mean the world to me! One of my favorite hobbies (besides reading and writing-English teachers, if you know, you know!) is hiking. The breathtaking forests of Pennsylvania are where I spend my time relaxing and rejuvenating my soul through nature. We truly live in a wondrous world!
