I come from a family of teachers. I still remember a mock school room set up in my basement, where my friends and I would play. I was always the teacher of course. I would decorate it with my mom's classroom supplies. When I grew up, I continued my love of teaching by volunteering in schools. Soon, I was at university in the Child Studies program. After graduating, I decided to work for a while before going to Teacher's College. I ended up spending some time teaching at a pre-school, then a daycare. Finally, I went to Teacher's College. It was a dream come true! I loved every part of the teaching process. I especially loved researching, planning and creating curriculum. During this time, I practice taught in most grades between kindergarten and grade 6. I loved every grade. I went on to teach grade 2. What an experience! I realized how much every teacher has to create on their own. No one gives you all of the material that you require. It was daunting. When I had my first child, I decided that I would stay home. Instead of going back to teaching, I would create materials that teachers needed. I began this process more than 10 years ago, but didn't know how to publish it...until I found Teacher's Pay Teacher's! I am just beginning to post the materials that I have created.
