I started substitute teaching K-12 in 2019 while I was pursuing my undergraduate degree. I subbed in 4 different school districts in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties in Southern California. In 2023, I moved to Northwest Arkansas where I continued substitute teaching K-12 in two different school districts. I later became employed as a full-time teacher at a public charter school, where I now teach 9th grade literature, 11th grade literature, and AP Language and Composition.
My teaching approach is characterized by a blend of traditional instruction and student-centered learning. I incorporate structured lectures on grammar, reading, and writing techniques to provide foundational knowledge. However, I also prioritize creating an environment where scholars can engage in independent research and collaborative endeavors. By fostering a balance between teacher-led instruction and student-driven exploration, I aim to cultivate a dynamic learning experience that caters to diverse learning styles and fosters critical thinking and teamwork skills.
