I am a 5th-grade teacher, and absolutely love working with this age group. Previously, I have worked in a 1st-grade classroom, 4/5 combo classroom, and at a preschool for several years.
I am very excited about student-focused and experiential learning. My goal in the classroom is to spark curiosity and passion for learning about all subject matters. Given my background in science, I like to create many interdisciplinary lessons that incorporate science, animals, and nature. I also use my background in art to inspire many visual learning resources.

I graduated from UCSB with my masters of education and multiple subject teaching credential. Before that, I received a B.A. in Environmental and Ocean Sciences at the University of San Diego.
My favorite time to teach is during morning meeting everyday. During this time I am able to spend a few minutes teaching about anything I want (science, civil rights, historical events, current events, animals, interesting words, etc.) It is the time where I get to really explore subjects that my students find intriguing and captivating. It gets them excited about learning first thing in the morning. I think this early morning engagement is where I really strive for my students, and I want to share that with you all!
