Between us, we have over 50 years of teaching experience teaching in a Jewish Day School setting. Throughout our careers, we have experienced the pendulum of Jewish education. One thing we did learn for sure is that students learn best when you approach the subject matter through multiples lenses. Students are not Jewish for an hour or two a day, so why is Judaic Studies defined to just an hour or less a day? So, we are joining forces to create curriculum, activities, material, and units designed to blend General Studies and Judaic Studies. For example, our Hanukkah Mystery Activity combines facts and history about Hanukkah with the General Studies skill of close reading and reading comprehension.
Our approach to teaching is to teach to the whole child, meeting them where they are in their life and learning journey. We provide resources that can easily differentiated to meet the needs of all students. We believe that when students can combine their everyday experiences with new material and make connections to the material, their learning is exponentially enhanced.
