I have been teaching 7th grade United States history and 12th grade Participation in Government in New York State for 23 years. I started my teaching career at a small rural district right after graduation. I hope to be able to retire from this same district. I love the opportunities I have to make an impact in student lives.
I believe in creating meeting the needs of the standards but also including fun and excitement into my lessons. I use games, activities, movies, writing activities to make history come to life.
I have presented at the New York State Middle School Conference and the National Middle School Conference on the topic of differentiation. I have also presented for my district as well as a neighboring district on the same topic.
I have received a Masters from SUNY Brockport in social studies education.
I am married with 2 young daughters. I have lived in New York State for most of my life and love it. I am also an active Girl Scout leader for my daughter's troop.
