TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Over twenty five years of experience as a physical therapist, eighteen of which as a school based pediatric physical therapist.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Developmentally appropriate physical therapy instruction to children with special needs such as Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental disabilities and autism. Gross motor instruction is always paired with language, learning the alphabet, colors, patterns, and/or numbers for a total learning experience. By combining movement with learning, young children retain more of which they are taught. Physical therapy instruction that involves play and following the child's lead and interests always yields the best results.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Published in Exceptional Parent Magazine, author of two books and a poster presentation for the Ohio American Physical Therapy Association.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Undergraduate studies at Bowling Green State University (Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy) and graduate degree from the University of Toledo (Master of Education).
