I believe in the "K.I.S.S." philosophy of teaching - as in "Keep It Short and Simple". This comes from working with students with special needs, who seem to learn best with short chunks of information laid out in a straightforward manner. I keep this in mind when designing activities/ worksheets for my students. Lots of pictures/ colors/ fancy "foo-foo" can be too distracting and/or confusing. Straight letter fonts, b/w designs & pictures used only if they enhance the concept are all part of my design/ instructional materials concepts.
Voted "Most Creative Teacher" at last school of employment.
