TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have a B.S. Education in Art Education and Elementary Education from the University of Georgia. I have taught art for over 25 years, 23 in one school, and I was raised by a professional artist with artwork having been exhibited in over 100 art shows and both regional and national museums. I also have drawn and painted over the years and have had watercolors paintings and pencil drawings in exhibits and sold professionally. Teaching art to children is my passion. I am currently a retired art teacher but have a candle business with my daughter. I make them and create the fragrances and she sells them.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is not a particular one. It varies according to the grade of my students and the lesson's objective. I can facilitate with the upper elementary and middle grades but I tend to be more of a demonstrator with the younger grades.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have won many awards and honors for my personal artwork and have competed in juried art competitions with my own pencil drawings and watercolors. I have also sold my art as a professional artist.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a B.S.Ed from the University of Georgia with a double major in art education and elementary education. I have worked on my masters at Mercer University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am married with two grown children and a grandmother of three,
