TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 9 years of high school science (9-12) as well as 10 years of middle school science. I also have a decade of video production under my belt as well.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love teaching! I get the chance to make the difficult ideas of the universe understandable to the young mind. I am a very visual and hands on learner so that tends to shape the way I teach. I like to sprinkle video and interactive web sites in with discussion and engaging activities to reach as many students as possible. My worksheets are hopefully user friendly and self explanatory. I hope you are able to use my resources as I have.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a nationally awarded video producer. I helped make our school a Missouri School of Character in 2007 and a National School of Character in 2008. I have been nominated teacher of the year several times over my career.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated with a BSEd in Science Education from the University of Missouri Columbia (Mizzou) in 1996 and completed a Masters in Digital Media Production from Lindenwood University in 2006.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am the executive producer of Epiphany Videoworks LLC (epiphanyvideoworks.com). Currently I am working on a documentary of George "the Shoeman" Hutchings. His organization collects new and used shoes to transport to countries in need at a fraction of our prices. The profits from the shoes go toward drilling wells and purifying water in Kenya and Haiti. It's a double whammy of awesome! Check it out at shoemanwater.org
