TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught elementary students for the last 8 years. I have had the opportunity to teach the Common Core strands as well as the Texas TEKS. While spending more time in 4th grade, I have also taught 3rd, 5th, and 6th. At times, I taught in a departmentalized setting where I focused on math, but still found ways to incorporate the writing, science, and social studies into math.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love the use of technology, but I don't forsake the fundamentals, like students mastering fact fluency. I am constantly changing it up, so that students don't get bored and I don't get complacent! We do a lot of cooperative learning, and by the end of the year, I want students to become the teachers!
