I have taught for many years! My first 10 years of teaching were in 3rd grade. Third grade is such a big year for learning and growth! It was a wonderful way to begin my teaching career. The rest of my teaching career has been in 4th grade, where I am currently. There is something magical about this age group! Students are eager to learn and I love getting to know their personalities.
Learning should be authentic, student-centered, interactive, and creative. The classroom climate is set by the teacher’s attitude- which creates a family of learners, working together. Teachers should have high expectations and should be role models for their students; both in the classroom and in the community. Teachers must be adaptable, constantly evaluating their teaching practices and seeking to improve their methods.
