I started teaching 9th & 10th grade in an Alternative Placement High School. But, for the majority of my teaching career, I taught 6th, 7th, & 8th grade Advanced and Gifted Language Arts. So, trust me, with 3 preps, I know how little time teachers have for curriculum prep, and how precious that time is! My products focus on literature, writing, and curriculum extension. I have spent a lot of time creating and tweaking enrichment materials to supplement whatever district materials you work with. Anything I have created and can share that will save you time, it's yours!
My teaching philosophy is simply: the students should be going home exhausted at the end of the day, not the teacher! The more we can provide the tools, the materials, and the confidence to simply facilitate the students' own hands-on learning, the better.
Well see, the year was 1959, and I had just taken a position at an all-boys boarding school in Vermont. With Walt Whitman in my back pocket, and an affinity for Latin, I was determined to make a difference in these boys' lives...Just Kidding. I'm just your run-of-the-mill teacher who has a hard time saying "no" to: ~PLC Facilitator ~Team Lead ~School Leadership Team Member ~School Gifted Coordinator ~AVID Site Team Member ~NJHS Advisor ~Club Sponsor *But isn't that all of us? ;)
