As a homeschooling mother, I have the privilege of teaching my 9-year-old gifted child with dyslexia and my 3-year-old preschooler learning to read and count. Despite the challenges that come with teaching a child with dyslexia, I have been able to adapt my teaching style to meet my older child's unique needs, while remaining patient and persistent in helping them learn and succeed. I have also found creative ways to keep my younger child engaged in the learning process, tailoring activities to their interests and making the experience fun and interactive. It brings me great joy to be able to guide my children's education and witness their growth and development. I am grateful for the opportunity to be their teacher and proud of the progress they have made under my guidance. In addition to homeschooling my children, I have also had the pleasure of teaching small group art classes. With an undergraduate degree in Art History and a second Bachelor's degree in Fine Art with an emphasis on drawing, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my students. I have found that teaching art to small groups allows me to give personalized attention to each student, fostering their creativity and encouraging them to express themselves through art. I particularly enjoy seeing the progress my students make from the beginning of the class to the end, as they develop their skills and gain confidence in their abilities. Teaching art has been a fulfilling and rewarding experience, and I look forward to continuing to share my passion for art with others.

As a teacher, I strongly believe in letting a child's interests guide their learning, while also pushing them to explore more challenging materials. Whether it's teaching my own children or leading a small group art class, I encourage my students to follow their creative instincts and explore new mediums and techniques. At the same time, I challenge them to take risks and try new things, pushing them out of their comfort zone and into new areas of discovery. By doing so, I hope to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning and a sense of confidence in their own abilities. Ultimately, I want to help them cultivate their own unique creative voice and inspire them to continue exploring their artistic and academic passions long after our time as teacher and students has ended.

While I don't like to brag about my accomplishments, I have been honored to receive recognition for my artwork over the years. I have participated in numerous art shows and competitions, where my work has been recognized with various awards and ribbons. While I am proud of these achievements, I believe that there is always room for growth and improvement as an artist, and I am constantly striving to push myself to new heights. Ultimately, it is the creative process itself that motivates me, and the joy of seeing my ideas come to life on the canvas or paper that keeps me passionate about my art. I am grateful for the opportunities to share my work with others and to receive recognition for my efforts, and I hope to continue to inspire others through my art in the years to come.

I am proud of my academic history, which has laid the foundation for my success as a homeschooling mother and Art teacher. I graduated from high school in 2007 with over 30 college credits. I then went on to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), one of the oldest and most prestigious art schools in America, where I pursued my passion for Drawing and Art History. In just three years, I earned two Bachelor's degrees, one in Art History and another in Fine Art with an emphasis on Drawing. Throughout my academic career, I maintained a 3.85 GPA. I am grateful for the opportunities that my academic background has afforded me and excited to continue using my skills and knowledge to inspire others to pursue their own passions and goals.
