TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching for almost 13 years in many different capacities. I am Texas state certified in ELAR 8-12, Speech, Dance 8-12, ESL, PE, SPED, GT, and am a Dyslexia Specialist. I have started an ESL and dance program along with a dance/drill team for a district, created district curriculum, and I have contributed and collaborated on state curriculum and testing licensing committees. I have been a dancer and studio director for Lone Star Ballet Dance Company and Academies. Creating, teaching, and altering dance curriculum and routines for ages 3-18 and Adult learners in many styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, cheer/pom, dance fitness, musical theater, modern, and lyrical. Currently, I am at an alternative campus teaching electives, dance, all English courses, dollars and sense, PE, ESL, ESSER testing recovery, and Secondary Dyslexia Specialist.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Recently I taught a "not for credit" course in STAAR EOC test prep. All of the students knew it was for no credit and many of my students had me as their 3rd or 4th English class of the day. So I truly modified the way my classroom and curriculum would look for that "buy-in" I needed from my kids to help them be successful!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from West Texas A&M University with a B.A in English. I did the dual major program to be an Educator. I also have 18 accredited hours for Dance studies.
