I am an eighth grade English/Language Arts teacher in Georgia. I also taught fifth grade Reading/Language Arts & Social Studies in Nashville, Tennessee for several years prior to moving back home to Georgia. I LOVE teaching and can't imagine doing anything else. I sincerely believe that I was born to teach and am grateful for the opportunities that teaching provides me. As a teacher, I have the opportunity to be a part of the lives of future generations-- future voters, citizens, adults, parents, friends, business owners, government officials, teachers-- the list could go on and on! I am accutely aware of the potential that each student has and keenly aware that I have a tremendous opportunity to provide them with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, creativity, organizational skills, that they'll need to be successful citizens. As Frederick Douglass said, "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." I take my job very seriously and also strive to be a role model for my students in every area of my life.
