TEACHING EXPERIENCE

As a special education teacher, I have worked in a variety of grade levels and have taught a range of different subjects and grade levels. I am going into my third year of teaching self contained mathematics for grades 7-12. I also have co-taught middle school Science and Social Studies for two years. I love the mix between self contained and co-taught classroom spaces, so you will most likely see a little bit of everything on my store!

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a math teacher to a diverse population, I build my curriculum around foundational math skills that are seen in day to day life. I will always provide my students with the "why" behind what we are doing! Through a project based curriculum, my students show me what they know each unit in a creative manner that asks them to stretch their brains. In order to do this, I am a strong believer that confidence and self awareness are essential in order to obtain any long term learning. You'll find growth mindset prompts and reflections embedded in many assignments, as our kiddos are most successful in life when they practice these skills!
