TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching ASL levels 1-4 for 20 years at a local high school. My school has a gifted/talented program for 7th and 8th graders so I teach all levels of students from 7th-12th grade. I have experience using Master ASL, Signing Naturally, and creating my own materials to use in my ASL classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love getting students involved and using the language. I try to make my classroom student focused and fun. Using the ACTFL guidelines for proficiency help me implement interaction in the classroom.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My students have won awards at our Utah State Annual ASL competition.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a degree in Elementary and Deaf Education and a Master degree in Deaf Education from Utah State University. I am endorsed in ESL and Special Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I know that as a teacher it can be hard to find the resources we need, especially when we face new circumstances. Sometimes we just need a helping hand when we feel stuck, or need a new idea. I hope to help share my resources to give simple solutions for your signing classroom.
