Foley Art- a lab for Sound Waves!
This is a hands-on, very engaging lab that allows students to become experts on sound effects! This lesson took me about 2-3 class periods, but you can easily adjust the length depending on your needs.I begin by showing students YouTube videos of what a Foley artist does and how they work with sound. Then, students complete the first few slides of the presentation which is a webquest and use the provided links to answer several questions related to Foley Art.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UO3N_

This creative composer study tasks the student to create pretend social networking page (profile) for a composer. By including photos, basic information, and "friends", the students will truly get an inside look at their composer. It is designed to not just be a hum-drum research paper, but be a creative, modern research project!
It could even be used as an extra project for GATE students.
