Welcome to Westward Expansion. This unit provides a thorough study of westward expansion using a cooperative learning model. It challenges the students through a Historical-Pictorial Map Project. The project involves map production, research, note taking, writing skills, artistic skills, working with someone else, and project organization. There are four parts to the unit. In the first (2) parts, the students will work individually while the last (2) parts involve working with a partner.
