Parts of a Seed
Use this page to teach students the parts of a seed. Soak fresh seeds (We used lima beans) in water until they absorb water, the seed coat starts to come off, and they start to split open. Should take several hours. Students will each get their own seed and will be able to identify each part on their seed. They will tape each part of their seed to the bottom of their paper.

Water Filter Experiment- packet
This experiment is great for understanding water filtration. We use 2 liter bottles with the bottom cut off. Students preplan in their groups what materials to use and how to place them in the upsidedown 2 liter. Once the prepare their "filtration system", I pour dirty water in and we collect it (glass baby food jars work great because you can see inside) out of the small opening at the bottom. English grammar - Irregular past tense: board game
Teaching grammar is not always very fun for the kids..until now!
I use this board game to teach irregular past tense verbs. Each child will have a marker (could be anything.. from a button to a rubber!) and a di for each board game. When child A throws the di, s/he has to move the marker and land on a sentence. S/he will then need to say the sentence with the correct past tense verb.
