We all know how difficult it can be to get our students to know how to recognize and use details in writing. Here is a song that can get them to at least think about what details are and how to use them. Music is a great way to remember facts and processes, so when my middle school students struggled with remembering the basic process and format for a 5 paragraph essay, I decided to put the information to music. What came of the experiment is to the tune of Macarena -- "Hey, Write a Paper!" This is a full demo which includes a PowerPoint version of the lyrics and slides that link from the lyrics to definitions of the terms used.
