There are three parts to this activity: the introduction to fossils and footprints, the experiment with how footprints can be used to learn about extinct animals and the art activity for students to reproduce how footprints from different situations might look. This product includes the lesson plan with suggestions for differentiation and required handouts, templates and observation sheets. The Woes of Moe the Flamingo: Book with Reading, Graphing and Science Activities
The book has factual information about flamingos but the setting is fictional. There are activities for geography, zoo workers and their jobs, counting, deciding if pictures represent equal or unequal quantities, dolch word cards, a simple science lab, recognizing characteristics of birds verses not a bird and there is a section called teacher tidbits that might be useful for anyone unfamiliar with doing these kinds of activities.
