I have over twelve years of experience as a teacher. I began my career in the elementary 6th grade classroom where I taught for three years. I made the move to middle school because of my love of all things history, but soon found it was not only the curriculum that made me happy but seeing my hormonal-surging, bright-eyed, too-much-drama, I-was-sad-but-now-I'm-happy, students. I absolutely adore this age group and understand that middle school students need dynamic and engaging lessons. My steadfast rule: I will not teach a lesson that is BORING!

My classroom is always a safe environment for my students where risk taking is encouraged. Whether it be asking a question or standing in front of their peers: respect, courtesy, and kindness is always given. I strive to create lessons that incorporate various modes of learning (auditory, kinesthetic, visual, etc.). I believe making connections to real-world experiences and incorporating higher-level forms of questioning is paramount to a successful learning experience.
