Jeremy Williamson is currently the director of bands at Jackson Heights Middle School in Oviedo, Florida. In addition he teaches a private studio in the Central Florida area. Mr. Williamson received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Stetson University. As a student at Stetson, he was a scholarship winner in the Central Florida Jazz Society competition and also a finalist in the Coleman and Fischoff Chamber Music Competitions. Mr. Williamson received is Master of Music in Saxophone from Northwestern University where he studied saxophone with Dr. Frederick Hemke and Masahito Sugihara. While a student at Northwestern, his saxophone quartet “Osomo” was the winner of the Northwestern University Chamber Music Competition, and again a finalist in the Coleman and Fischoff Chamber Music Competitions. Mr. Williamson served as Band Director at Heritage Middle School in Deltona, Florida, and associate director at East Cobb Middle School in Marietta, Georgia. Jeremy has been the saxophone instructor for the Stetson University Community School of the Arts, Blue Lake Academy, First Academy of Leesburg, and Daytona Beach Community College and Seminole State College. Mr. Williamson currently plays with various big bands and symphonies in the Central Florida area and is the co-principal saxophone and a founding member of the Southern Winds.
