Over 35 years of classroom teaching and literacy coaching in a variety of public schools and a private college.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I think I've used a hundred different styles of teaching and discipline over the years. What works for that moment for that class and that student is what I will use!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year four times in three different school districts and Crystal Apple Award winner twice in two different districts. I have also been published in several literary and teaching periodicals as well as several short stories, articles and two novels that are not teaching related.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and went to a private small college in Kansas (Go Swedes!). From there I went to the University of Iowa's Writer's Workshop and got a second masters degree in leadership at Gonzaga University. I am a constant reader in all areas.
