I have been a Spanish teacher for over fourteen years. Being a native speaker, I consider it an honor to teach my language to so many students every year. I have also taught English as a Second Language where I had the opportunity to welcome and teach students who came to the High School world without knowing any English. I love being in the classroom knowing that every single day I have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of my students!
I am a very dynamic person who loves to laugh and help others feel welcome and safe. My teaching style is indeed a reflection of my personality. I love to establish great rapport with my students while I strive to maintain discipline and order in my class. My success as a teacher would not be possible without the continued collaboration with my colleagues and our eagerness to learn every day from each other. I try to create an educational experience that targets many different learning styles: from the student who needs a quiet assignment, to those who love being creative, to hands on activities and games. In my classroom we learn by playing games, engaging in conversation, and collaborating with each other. Students know that they are in a safe place where they can learn, make mistakes and continue to improve their language and life skills!
