TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hi! I’m Nadia and I am a National Board Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor through the state of Illinois, and Licensed Educator with an endorsement in School Counseling through the Illinois State Board of Education with certification to teach students K-12. I also hold certifications in crisis prevention intervention, reading & literacy instruction, and behavioral analysis. I founded BEF Education, LLC in 2017 in order to focus more time on providing individualized support to students and families with all types of learning needs. My goal was to build an organization that provided support and service designed to empower students to become confident, self-directed individuals who possesses the skills to thrive not only academically, but personally and socially as they continued to grow and evolve. My role as an educator has fluctuated over the years and has left me with a wealth of knowledge and an efficacious ability to help struggling students identify real solutions that produce sustainable results. Although change is a process, I have so appreciated and valued the opportunity to help stimulate that change, allowing students to develop a strong sense of self worth and ultimately achieve the success they are capable of. My diversified experience in this field has prepared me to work with students with all types of learning needs. Provided Individualized Executive Function Coaching support to students from all over the world including: Canada, Australia, China, Malaysia, and the United States. Developed an Executive Function Program and Procedure designed for educators to implement in small group settings and 1:1 support designed to support students in building and improving their executive functioning skills. Designed a Training Program and Trained Educators on the IEP/504 process and effective practices for supporting students diagnosed with ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Learning Disorders, and Executive Function Challenges. Served as an Educational Advocate and Consultant to families across Chicago navigating the complex education system and IEP/504 process. Provided Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Therapy services to students and their families through individualized programming based on behavior analysis principles that teach new skills, reduce problem behavior, and enhance the academic, vocational, and social life of an individual. Coached Students Preparing For Post-Secondary Education ensuring each had the knowledge, resources, and support they needed to matriculate to a college that matches and/or exceeds their academic qualifications and fits their social, emotional, cultural and financial needs. Throughout my career my main objective has centered around providing support and guidance that aims to empower students to become confident, self-directed individuals who achieve their fullest potential, leading lives they are passionate about.
