We have scaled our work from three participating high schools in 2014 to 48 middle and high schools in BCPS. 808 Frames have been critical to the success of our work. FSU and VU have been working with 808Education and using 808 FRAMES since 2017. In our work implementing PASL in the Broward County Public Schools, 808Education has used their Frames in quarterly meetings with participating school teams comprised of teachers, guidance counselors and administrators. 808 Frames have been used at each meeting to guide the work. They have been used to facilitate meetings with district partners. Educators have also used them in district and school meetings and with students. We highly recommend 808Ed professional development Frames and the entire scope of work 808Education provides.
There are three things to know about SEL-15 Frames: • 808 Professional Development Frames scaffold the BCPS vision, mission, and strategies into flexible FRAMES so that schools can use them during professional development with adults or direct instruction with students. In turn, educators use them with their staff and in classrooms with students. In this way, the 808Ed Frames are engaging and accessible to all and establish best practices for professional development. • Educators love 808 Frames and become highly invested in them. The Frames are asset-based and promote reflection and community. They are constructivist by design; therefore, each participant is highly engaged in the work. • 808 professional development experiences model best practices by leading from the participants' voices and cultivating safe learning environments that encourage active participation. Participants are not only engaging in fundamental wellness competencies such as self-awareness and relationship skills, but the organization of the Frames themselves model this type of engagement.
