I have taught for six years in fifth grade. I love it! Fifth grade is one of the best grades in my opinion because of the rigor, independence, and students are transitioning from child to teen. There is never a dull moment!
I center my teaching style around love and learning. All students are valued in my classroom and this translates to my teaching style. When I design lessons and activities it centers around my students. I aim to show my students at the end of the day that they are loved and valued as people. To me learning means many things, not just academics. This may mean for some students to learn how to act in certain situations, how to follow expectations and maintain high standards for yourself. This may mean learning time management skills or advocating for yourself.
