TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching since 2015 at a hybrid/online school in Minnesota.

While teaching at this school, not only do I teach language arts to all middle school students (we are a small school) but I also have taught 5th-grade Technology, 8th-grade Transition to High School, Professional Communications (a high school class), 5th-grade Transition to Middle School, and African American Studies (another high school class).

I joke that I am a jack-of-all-trades but really I teach about 10 different and unique classes each year, so I have a vast understanding of a lot of different aspects of working with younger students and older students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to have fun with my students while also teaching them about the content, so my products reflect that.

I also hate the idea of reading comprehension questions taking up the bulk of a novel unit.

I want students to play with the text and create things from it, make connections to the bigger world with it, and make it their own!

As for my products that are less focused on language arts, I want to help students prepare for what is ahead, so helping them with their Social and Emotional Skills is the best way I can think of to do that!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Hi, I'm Emily Eggers! I'm a Middle School Language Arts teacher turned entrepreneur who helps educators to be innovators and embrace flexibility and responsiveness by strategically incorporating technology and utilizing online teaching methods in order to help all students be successful and reach their goals.

I am extremely passionate about helping teachers take back their time and sanity in order to live a life that makes them truly happy and includes things they love to do!

I am a hot-mess toddler mom to 2 amazing girls and a reality TV junkie.

I also spent years in IT (aka that person you would call when your computer wouldn't work) and now I am a teacher in an awesome hybrid school in Minnesota!
