I began teaching 7th and 8th grade Math and ELA in small-group and collaborative special education classes. Over the five years I taught special education, I ended up teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Math, ELA, and Social Studies. I then went on to teach 7th grade on-level ELA for two years. For the past two years, I have taught 6th grade Gifted English Language Arts.
I believe that the best teaching is differentiated. Students learn in different ways and we need to make sure we are tailoring our teaching styles to their learning styles. Each child needs to be pushed to his or her capability!
In 2011 I received the Achiever's Award for Dedicated Service to Children. In 2015 I was nominated for Teacher of the Year.
I hold my Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Masters Degree in Behavioral and Learning Disabilities, and my Educational Specialist in Exemplary Teaching.
