TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I love being a Speech-Language Pathologist! I currently work with preschool-5th grade students at a public school in San Diego County. I am a Clinical Supervisor for California State University San Marcos. Areas of specialty: articulation, bilingualism, language disorders, literacy, does organization count? After obtaining my BA, I started out as a Reading Intervention Specialist in Fallbrook during the day, in the afternoon I interned for Reading S.T.A.R.S. which utilized a Sensory Training Approach to Reading and Spelling all over San Diego. During graduate school I completed clinical work with preschool, elementary and adults (with TBI, aphasia, Parkinson's Disease and dysphagia). I also completed my student teaching in a public school and then externship in a skilled nursing facility, both of which I LOVED!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that speech and language therapy should be organized, data driven, evidence based and most of all fun! If I am not having fun, then my students cannot be having fun either.
