I have been teaching private piano lessons in my home for over 20 years to students young and old. I have a passion for music education, and have spent hours in the classroom teaching beginning music classes to students with no musical background. I recently created a children's book teaching musical concepts, which I hope will become a successful series.
I believe that children learn best in fun and engaging environments. I combine time on the keyboard with games and activities teaching musical theory. I use reward systems such as "practice bucks" to earn prizes for time spent on the piano at home. My goal as a teacher is to create a life long love for music. Music should be a passion and an escape. Not a chore to be suffered through.

I have a BA in English Literature and a minor in Psychology with a focus on Child Development. I worked as a DSW with people with disabilities and brain injuries before settling down and starting a family. Since then I have completed my Early Childhood Education Diploma and have focused solely on music education through private teaching, and in coordination with my local elementary school.
At 10 years old I received my first keyboard for Christmas. I spent a lot of time experimenting with sound in the beautiful way children do. One day my babysitter played Canon in D Major by Johann Pachelbel. I still can’t describe to this day how I felt when I heard that song. I knew I had to learn it and immediately asked my parents for piano lessons. I have been playing and learning music ever since. I have a love for music and enjoy encouraging and sharing that love with my students.
